wave form series objects

My “wave form” series consists of radial open-form objects that are defined by sine wave curves that wrap around the shape. The hard-edged waves are separated by smooth, undulating surfaces that are created by the interaction of different wave frequencies.

The focus of this work is the way in which the ridges capture the light and project gentle shadows across the surfaces, reminiscent of sand dunes illuminated by low-angle afternoon light.

The other way I conceptualize these objects is to imagine different sound waves and how the combinations of different tones work together to create harmony, dissonance, and complex overtones.
