origami geometric objects

Origami series works are inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding, with ridges analogous to folds, and the unglazed translucent porcelain echoing the texture of paper with a little bit of tooth. This is the jumping off point for a family of objects that share the quality of repetitive creases that define these forms.

My entry into the Origami series began with open-form vessels and progressed to the closed geometric forms shown here. As with all of my current work, these are (cone 5) unglazed translucent porcelain.
